In an environment with excessive heat and humidity, a large unmounted print can expand and contract over time, causing rippling and sagging, or even worse, becoming stuck to the glass it's framed under.

Mounting Materials

Foamcore

3/16'' black foamcore board: Due to it's light weight, it is suitable for larger prints that will be framed.

Smooth Mount

1/16'' whit eboard: Completely smooth surface! Best suited for gloss prints or when your frame requires a thinner mount board.

Sintra

1/8'' black and ridged board: Smoothly surfaced and will not warp... ideal for display prints that aren't intended for framing.

Lamination

We offer a choice of laminates to preserve and protect your valuable prints; Pearl, Leather and Hi-Gloss.

Pearl: For photographic quality images that will be viewed under direct lighting conditions for indoor applications.

Leather: Our most popular laminate! Will not alter the colour or sharpness of the original print. The most common application for this laminate is for portrait photography. (shown at right)

Hi-Gloss: The recommended laminate for photographic prints, POP graphics or anywhere a high-gloss, mirror-like finish is desired.

Plaquemounts

Plaquemounting is a popular and economic alternative to framing that looks good and lasts! A great option for photos, certificates, posters, newspaper clippings, and any paper-based media.

Images are mounted on 3/8'' hardboard, cut to the exact size of your artwork. The edges are beveled and the surface laminated. The plaque seal protects your piece from wrinkling, staining, or mildewing and the surface is washable. Edges come in a variety of colours.
